The Executive Board, having considered a recommendation of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean Region,1 decided to establish the Down Syndrome Research Prize Foundation in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, to be administered by the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean in accordance with the Statutes approved by the Regional Committee at its forty-fifth session in October 1998.
